About Me

Henno

I grew up in Nylstroom, Limpopo, and studied Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Pretoria, graduating First Class with a specialization in Vehicle and Nuclear Engineering.

My career includes roles at Axis Mechanical Design and Andritz Delkor, where I specialized in product development and advanced process plant equipment design.

Currently, I serve as an Engineering Manager, constantly seeking innovative solutions.

In my free time, I enjoy working with IoT technology, DIY projects, and spending time with my family.

Solutions

I offer expertise in Innovation & Product Development, Mechanical Design and Structural Design.

485-ton Propylene Storage Bullets

Designed for Sasol's synthetic fuel production, these 485-ton Propylene Storage Bullets have a capacity of 1,642,500 liters each. Measuring 60 meters in length and 6 meters in diameter, they are the largest steel pressure vessels ever made in South Africa. The design process included extensive calculations, FEA, and heat treatment studies, ensuring successful manufacturing and delivery.

Water Reservoirs

These industrial water reservoirs are engineered to handle significant liquid head pressure, external pipe loads, and environmental factors such as wind and seismic activity. The design process included static structural FEA and evaluations based on API 650 and ASME BPVC codes.

584-ton Mounded LPG Storage Vessels

Among the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, these 584-ton mounded LPG storage vessels were designed to withstand full vacuum conditions and the weight of the mounds. ASME BPVC code calculations and FEA were performed for all non-standard components, enhancing safety as well as LPG storage capacity through innovative engineering solutions.

35m Paste Thickener

Fabricated for a Saudi Arabian client, this 35-meter Paste Thickener is one of the world's largest. Designed to maximize solids concentration and water recovery, the project involved continuous advisory roles in drafting, fabrication, and site erection, using static structural FEA and adhering to API 650 and ASME BPVC standards.
